Member CentralEducation & TrainingThe Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program is a tuition assistance program offering current and future child care providers a foundation in the care and development of children. The program, funded through Virginia's share of the federal Child Care and Development Fund, provides assistance for providers to attend courses at Virginia institutions of higher learning. T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® VIRGINIA offers scholarships to child care providers – teachers, directors and family child care providers – who work in regulated early childhood programs to complete coursework toward an Associate Degree in early childhood education at a local community college. The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Program addresses the challenges of insufficient education, low compensation, and high turnover found in the child care industry. Basic to T.E.A.C.H. is the belief advanced professional development deserves increased compensation which leads to reduced staff turnover and improved program quality. The VDSS Provider Training Catalog and TIPS Calendar is for private, non-profit and governmental organizations to list child care provider training. Providers may use the calendar to view training offered. The calendar is not intended to give detailed information on an event. Individuals must contact the sponsor for details or registration. |
