For the Community

Strategic Partners

Many organizations share our vision of providing a quality early childhood experience for children from low income families.

We thank our current strategic partners who have collaborated with us in support of Virginia Head Start programs. If your organization would like to become a strategic partner with VAHSA, contact Maxine McKinney.

Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries

VDGIFThanks to a partnership with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Head Start teachers are being trained in the outdoor curriculum Growing Up Wild. The Department launched this early childhood initiative designed to interest young audiences in nature and the outdoors. Workshops provide an interactive, hands-on approach allowing participants to experience Growing Up WILD activities and discover how using them can help accomplish educational goals.
